Premium Edition USA Today: Women Innovators
USA Today and Smithsonian collaboration for a nationwide featured print insert
To celebrate Women's History Month in 2022, Smithsonian partnered with USA Today on a Premium Edition Family Guide. Select newspaper subscribers nationwide received the special 10-page broadsheet: "We Built This: How Women Innovators Shaped the World".
To make the information accessible it was also offered as a free digital download from the Smithsonian Learning Lab.
A woven landscape featuring women and their inventions are featured on the cover, and curated selection of stories, puzzles and activities are on the inside. The idea of quilt patches represents the collective effort and handiwork of the inventors. Each spot represents a different industry or item. The inclusion of unfinished stitching and a needle communicates the ongoing progress in recognising women's contributions.
